postcards in movement

When I send a letter, I sense that time acquires a different meaning. The anticipation and the journey of the words stretch and relativize time itself; life is suspended while the message travels, and time becomes ensnared within space. From their very concept, letters—especially postcards—found their way into this project as both metaphor and creative tool.

These Postales en movimiento (Moving Postcards) originate from my travels across Latin America and my inquiries into cities, soundscapes, imagery, and communication. The postcards were built from documentation collected during an extensive tour through four Latin American cities: Mexico City (Mexico), Buenos Aires (Argentina), La Paz (Bolivia), and Lima (Peru). The outcome is a sound and visual reconstruction, crafted from the recollections of each segment of the journey, the engagement with each city, and the epistolary exchange.
