Emmet Gowing

Emmet Gowin is one of the most original and influential photographers of the last forty years. Gowin has been acknowledged for his unmistakable and deeply original poetic voice linked to reality and life. He doesn't adhere to the pressure of the artistic movements of the moment. This is an interview made as part of the retrospective exhibition of his work displayed at the art Museum Banco de la República in 2015.

Pareidolia was an anthological exhibition of the Catalan artist Joan Fontcuberta (1955). The exhibition shows five emblematic series of his work: Herbarium, Fauna, Constellations, Sputnik and Milagros & Co. The exhibition reflected on the nature of his work and included his strategies of construction, deception and manipulation of our credulity before the images. In this conversation he told us about his relationship with the images and the creative process of his work.
